I laugh loud and hard as a rule. I'm not someone you want to sit next to in the movie theater to watch a comedy unless you don't care what the next line is and you are comfortable with the body fluids slung by a person who is laughing loud and hard (mostly tears and snot but I've laughed to the point of peeling my pants on more than one occasion). Having said that I'll tell you now I have a very large bruise on my left thigh from slapping it and my neighbor's believe I've contracted some strange affliction (I read it outside on the patio) they've never heard that type noise come from a human before. My abdominal muscles are unbelievably sore from laughing so hard but I still couldn't put it down. This is the funniest suit I've ever read. I can't wait to start the next one. Nick Spalding you rock.

What a great story! The writing is excellent and Nick Spalding tells an absolutely hilarious story. You will laugh out loud often and love the characters. I had a hard time putting this book down. The crazy part about reading this story was the author's claim at the beginning of this book. He said that even though the characters are fictitious the dating scenarios were true. Those dating nightmares were hysterical and scary all at the same time. Great read here. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Remember this is a British humour series! I say "boo" to the downer reviews. I have never laughed so much in my life than when reading this series! Sure, it can be obnoxiously brutally honest, but that's what makes it such a crazy ride! Give it a try!
This book is the first in the series, and it is definitely the best! An author's note at the beginning explains the story is essentially a complication of his friend's horror stories from their dating lives... So apparently ask this craziness actually happened to some poor unfortunate souls. The plot is really quite predictable, nothing original there... actually it's extremely unimaginative... but I am still giving it 5 stars, which should tell you how funny this book is! I was laughing out loud while reading and hoping people wouldn't look at me funny when I was in a public place. Read it- it's great!

The list is endless. A whole new type of romance novel. Brilliant, as the Brits would put it.

What a talent to write comedy so well, so clearly. There were times I was laughing so hard, I had to take off my glasses to wipe my eyes so I could put them back on to finish reading the sentence which lead to gales of laughter which forced me to remove my glasses to wipe my eyes AND blow my nose so I could put my glasses back on and read more that would result in me laughing myself into a coma...

Brilliant.
I read this book while sitting in the auto repair shop, waiting (all day!) for my car. I wasn't sure what to expect but the price was right and the cover was cute so I dove in. Pretty much right from the start I was laughing at the exploits of the main characters. Jamie and Laura aren't perfect people-- they have lots of goofy character flaws-- but they come across to the reader as intensely real, likeable and funny. Their blog entries read like something I would write- relatable, funny and stream of consciousness. I enjoyed this book immensely and couldn't wait to dive into the sequels.
This is not a particularly romantic romance novel. It's more a collection of funny stories that happen to coincide with two people falling in love.
The stories are HILARIOUS, though. I read the Fajita Incident scene aloud to my husband and there were points where I couldn't speak because I was laughing too hard. I would recommend this book for that scene alone.
With that being said, the humor was fantastic but I have a preference for real romance so I probably won't read more by this author unless I am dying for laugh out loud humor.
When I saw that a man wrote this I was scared he was just going to make women look like stupid whores (based on certain popular male author who writes "comedies" this way) but Nick Spalding didn't do that. =) It's just stories of awful dates that truly are laugh out loud funny.

It's written well, and I love that the two main characters give their awful dating woes (which give us stomach pain from laughing so hard) and yet there is a real love story in here too.

As another reviewer mentioned- it is crude. But that's what's so funny! So if you only watch G movies, then no this book is not for you. I however, loved it and recommend it!

It's very British, and as an ignorant American it took me a step or two to figure out what some stuff was. But that wasn't bad- just wanted to mention it.
